About

MY JOURNEY

What is this blog about?

Having been diagnosed as a Type I Diabetic at 19, I was a late-comer. I have been through good and bad and know I will continue through the good and the bad. Through this blog, I hope to accomplish giving others an idea of what my experience is like being a Type I Diabetic along with holding myself accountable to the control of it.

Featured within my blog, I will write about my exercise plan, my nutrition and eating habits (of which I'm hoping to improve), my weight loss and health gain, my blood glucose levels, and the new things I've learned. Anything about my life and the effect my diabetes has on it; the good and the bad.

I was born in California, lived in Australia from age 9-20, and now live in Arizona. I am an artist, musician, and writer. I am currently a student working on my AA of Pre-Nutrition and Dietetics, hoping to become a Registered Dietitian with the dream of owning my own health and wellness centre. My current method for diabetes management is insulin pump therapy, using a Medtronic MiniMed Paradigm insulin pump (it's purple!),  exercise, using various BeachBody programs, and nutrition (though I still need to work on it). I am also a volunteer Mentor of newly diagnosed teens with T1D for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

For more information about how I got there, please check out Introducing: Me

Feel free to message me if you have any questions or comments.

Welcome to my journey!
